[edit] Songs

Rugby Road is definitely an old drinking song at the University, but I can't verify whether the other songs in that snippet are Pep Band songs or University-wide. 24.125.39.99 (talk) 17:31, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

The songs "From Rugby Road to Vinegar Hill," "Fill Up Your Silver Goblet", and "Glory, Glory to Virginia" are all UVA songs with long lineages. They were performed, in pretty much that order, on a recording of the Virginia Glee Club and UVA Band (Pep Band predecessor) on a late 1940s/early 1950s recording so have been around for at least that long. [edit] Article cleanup

This article is a mess. Tone is non-encyclopedic, a lot of content could be refactored elsewhere (there is a nice long article on the School of Architecture already extant) and I have a sneaking suspicion that the whole thing has some significant copy/paste going on. This needs to be addressed before the article is rated. Tjarrett (talk) 15:49, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

OK, I went through and cleaned up a bunch of stuff:
* Edited for tone
* Cited or removed unattributed assertions
* Added sections on Carr's Hill and fraternity and sorority houses (the latter needs expansion)
* Added information about Easters
* Restructured refs
* Eliminated trivia section

And probably some other changes as well. Of course, now I can't rate the article. Does someone want to take a stab? Tjarrett (talk) 16:05, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
