Rufus Tree is an indie [rock] band from Chicago, Illinois. Their two full length CDs resemble Lifehouse, Switchfoot, and Pearl Jam stylistically. Rufus Tree has opened for bands such as Lifehouse, Rusted Root, Blind Melon, and Sonicflood and have been together since 1998. Dove Award winning guitarist Phil Keaggy and Dove Award winning songwriter Mitch McVicker guest performed on Rufus Tree's 2005 album, Dying To Live. Rufus Tree contains 5 band members, Caleb Kruze, Pete Kruze, Kevin Hicks, Andy Lundman, and Ashley Vargas who play a variety of instruments, such as: hammered dulcimer, harmonica, jaw harp, and e-bow, combining them with traditional rock elements.
