(2007)

Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall is Rufus Wainwright's sixth album. It is a live recording of his June 2006 tribute concert to Judy Garland. Backed by a 36-piece orchestra under the conduction of Stephen Oremus, Wainwright recreated Garland's April 23, 1961 concert, often considered "the greatest night in show business history." After overcoming many personal problems, her comeback performance of 25+ American standards spawned the double album, "Judy at Carnegie Hall."

Due to popular demand, Wainwright's tribute was performed 6 times total:
June 14, 2006 at Carnegie Hall in New York City, NY
June 15, 2006 at Carnegie Hall in New York City, NY
February 18, 2007 at the London Palladium in London, UK
February 20, 2007 at L'Olympia in Paris, France
February 25, 2007 at the London Palladium in London, UK
September 23, 2007 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA

Guests on the album include Martha Wainwright ("Stormy Weather"), one of Garland's daughters, Lorna Luft ("After You've Gone"), along with Kate McGarrigle ("Over the Rainbow" - piano). Related to the album, the February 25 London Palladium concert was recorded and released as Rufus! Rufus! Rufus! Does Judy! Judy! Judy!: Live From the London Palladium on DVD (December 4, 2007).
