The Rufous-chested Plover (Charadrius modestus; also known as Rufous-chested Dotterel), is a species of bird in the Charadriidae family. It is found in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Falkland Islands, Peru, Saint Helena, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, and Uruguay. Its natural habitats are temperate grassland and sandy shores.
