Rufino Plaza
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rufino Plaza or Rufino Pacific Tower was the tallest skyscraper in the Philippines during 1996. It is currently the 34th tallest building in the Philippines. It remains the tallest steel-framed building in the country.[citation needed] It has a height of 200 meters, soaring at 41 stories high plus an 8-level radio tower. The building is the home of the Rufino family corporations, including major financial corporations.
The building is located at 6784 Ayala Avenue corner V.A. Rufino Street in Makati City. The stretch of Ayala Avenue where Rufino Pacific Tower lies also has branches of Metrobank, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Equitable PCI Bank, Export and Industry Bank, International Exchange Bank, and East West Bank. It also almost directly faces PBCom Tower, the tallest building in the Philippines and home to the Philippine Bank of Communications.
Rufino Tower is designed by international architects.[who?] Its exterior double-glazed, unitized curtain walls create a facade that reflects a fusion of art and function. Its interiors are an elegant interplay of glass, natural stone and metal.
