Rufford is a village in west Lancashire (grid reference SD458155). It is a popular village with commuters. It lies at a point where the Leeds and Liverpool Canal (Rufford Branch), the Liverpool, Ormskirk and Preston Railway, the A59 (Liverpool to Preston road) and the River Douglas all meet.

Rufford Old Hall is a National Trust building situated in Rufford. This stately home was originally home to the Hesketh family.

Rufford has its own parish council, which also covers the neighbouring village of Holmeswood.

Rufford railway station opened on 2 April 1849.
