Re:Your GA nomination of Wolf Armoured Vehicle

I understand your concerns, but I may not be editing for a while, so please do not think that I am ignoring your comments. <DREAMAFTER> <TALK> 21:29, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Admin coach

I see you are interested in admin coaching. I'm willing to help you if you would like me to. If so, make a subpage of your user page and leave me a note on my talk page to link to it. On that subpage, list what you think you need to work on. We'll mainly use that subpage to communicate. I looked at the two other accounts you say you have User:Radio_orange and User:Onnaghar, but they showed no contribs. What's the deal there? I see why you have the doppelganger accts, so you have5 total? RlevseTalk 03:44, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for supporting my RFA

Thanks for your support, my request for adminship passed 62/0/0 yesterday!

I want to thank Snowolf and Dincher for nominating me, those who updated the RfA tally, and everyone for their support and many kind words. I will do my best to use the new tools carefully and responsibly (and since you are reading this, I haven't yet deleted your talk page by accident!). Please let me know if there is anything I can do to be of assistance, and keep an eye out for a little green fish with a mop on the road to an even better encyclopedia.

Thanks again and take care, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 16:36, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

RFA

No problem, sorry that I seem somewhat stubborn, btw, but I want that user to gain adminship. On another note, would you like to be nominated for adminship yourself? I'd be glad to nominate you--Phoenix-wiki talk · contribs 21:13, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Just wanted to say on your talk page here that I'd be happy to co-nominate if you're interested in doing another RFA. Let either of us know and one of us will certainly get it rolling! Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 18:23, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Re: Featured portal candidates

Other than featured articles, the rest of the "featured components" (i.e. featured pictures, portals, lists, sounds, etc.) have no dedicated person to close nominations. So, to answer your question, everyone can close nomination if consenus is reached. I was about to close some nominations that clearly reached consenus today because I finished my exam and had a birthday party last night (yes, yesterday was my birthday). I was planning to fill in the vacuum of featured portals director position, as indicated in my RfA (funny how some people opposed at my RfA support me to become featured portals director). OhanaUnitedTalk page 16:59, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. I'm planning to revamp the featured portal. Rarely anyone uses Wikipedia:Featured portal removal candidates and a lot of outdated portals are no longer maintained and degraded yet they remain FP. OhanaUnitedTalk page 17:26, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for closing the WP:FPORTC discussion! Just to let you know, you wrote "Shudde" on my talk page notice, instead of "Cirt", I took the liberty of correcting that, hope that's okay. Cirt (talk) 17:38, 18 December 2007 (UTC).
No worries. Oh, I see it was OhanaUnited (talk · contribs) that closed the discussion, but thanks for doing the updating ! Cirt (talk) 17:44, 18 December 2007 (UTC).
Yeah, that's true. :) Rt. 17:45, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
  • I think there are a few "Ongoing news" or something like that, places where you have to update new Featured Content, and maybe also notify Signpost? I'm not sure. Cirt (talk) 17:55, 18 December 2007 (UTC).
Y Done - apart from notifying Signpost. As far as I know, it won't run for about another 10 days, and Ral315 (who's doing the F&A section) will probably find out about it then. Rt. 18:01, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Thanks for all your help. Cirt (talk) 18:20, 18 December 2007 (UTC).
No problem. Best, Rt. 18:40, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

I think we need to sychornize pages. For example, there are 81 portals listed on Portal:Featured content/Portals, but only 80 on Portal:Featured portals, and 82 on Wikipedia:Portal/Directory OhanaUnitedTalk page 19:51, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Grade I listed buildings in Manchester

No problem at all. Just glad to have helped.... If the simillar Grade I listed buildings in Bristol is featured, then I certainly don't see why this article shouldn't be a FAC either? What do you think?

On another note, I would hope that Malleus and yourself can offer an olive branch to one another - you're both excellent users (albeit with slightly contrasting styles and approaches), and it'd be a shame to have a "virtual" bad atmosphere and breakdown of our project's team spirit.

This looks like it could be crossed-wires as a result of Wiki-fatigue on the part of both of you. Just my opinion. -- Jza84 · (talk) 22:26, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Regarding Grade I listed buildings in Manchester. The reviewer at PR stated a map might be suitable for the location. User:Warofdreams is a very capable user who, if asked politely, may be able to bring Image:Map of Manchester.png to life as a fully functional Template:Location map; pointer-and-all! Just a thought. -- Jza84 · (talk) 02:30, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:The Problem with Wikipedia.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:The Problem with Wikipedia.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 03:37, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

About My newest article the man with the iron heart

It appears what you want are a bunch of templates like category books and the this article is a stub however I do not know hoe to add them. As to notability it seems to me that we write articles on books regardless of how notable a book is there are numerous articles about little known books in wikipedia. I stand by my two small edits and believe them to be correct. As you are currently editing this article, I will hold off. Best regards, Hult041956 (talk) 18:24, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

We're both being so polite. It must be because it's Christmas time. ;-) Thank you for clarifying. Yes, I had understood you to mean you were actively editing right at that moment. In any case, good luck with the GA review and best regards. Hult041956 (talk) 18:37, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Map for Grade I listed buildings in Manchester

I've taken a look at this and tested a few ideas, but most of the sites are so close together on a map of Greater Manchester that even using a huge scale they overlapped so as to make the map unusable. I think that the only solution would be to draw up a more local map - perhaps one showing only the City of Manchester - and use plot the buildings on that. As an example of how this could be done, with a sufficiently large scale map, I've created an image at Listed buildings in Sheffield. Warofdreams talk 23:03, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Cool, thanks for that, and for Internationalist (your support helped!) If you want to help out with the Portal that'd be great - I sucks at them (Portal:Music of Australia is my only decent attempt) and I'm busy working on the featured topic...so yeah :) By the way, I saw your comment to PeaceNT - we must make that article featured, I know how much she'd like one :) Dihydrogen Monoxide (Review) 23:29, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

RfA Thanks

Thank you for voting in my RfA, which closed successfully with 44 support, 4 oppose, and 3 neutral. I will work hard to improve the encyclopedia with my new editing tools (and don't worry, I'll be careful).

hi

could you please explain why you taggged Electric Gardens... thanks... Pollypenhouse (talk) 15:43, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

ok is it better now? Pollypenhouse (talk) 16:44, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

how come you deleted that part? Oo I thought as long as it is referenced, its ok? and that was the way that electric gardens worded it when advertising it, which was why it was in inverted commas. Pollypenhouse (talk) 17:21, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Re:Reese Witherspoon

Hey, I know you. :) (See you very often at the help desk) Thank you for the encouragement, the FAC process is kinda intimidating. I see you've helped promoting FAs before, so I'm thinking if you could give me your assessment of Reese Witherspoon when you have spared time? Not that I'm greedy (I've asked H2O for his opinion), but I'm trying to get as many outside views as I can. And you know what they say, there is always room for improvement. ;)PeaceNT (talk) 18:02, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
