Rudong County (Chinese: 如东县; Pinyin: Rúdōng Xiàn) is a county in Jiangsu Province of People's Republic of China. It is located at the opposite side of the Yangtze River to Shanghai. The county is named as Ru (Rugao County)and dong (east) because geographically Rudong is located to the east of Rugao county and was once one part of it.

The county has a seat named Juegang township. Rudong has totally 15 townships including Juegang.

The county has a long history, which can be dated from the period of springs and autumns. The ancient name of the place is Fuhaizhou, which means a small sand island in the ocean.

The county has many migrants from the south of the Yangtse River (Changjiang River), so there are mainly two dialects in this region: the Rudonghua which belongs to the Jianghuai mandarin and the Shadihua (Wu: Sodiwo IPA[so di ɯo]) which belongs to the Wu language.
