Rudolf Hommes

Rudolf Hommes Rodríguez is a Colombian politician and economist mostly known for serving a term as Colombian Minister of Finance under the government of President Cesar Gaviria and in which he introduced many liberal policies in Colombia's Economy. He is also a regular columnist on many important Colombian media outlets on articles relating mostly to Finances and one of President Álvaro Uribe's principal advisors.

Rudolf Hommes is citizen of both Colombia and Germany. He obtained a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1973 and has been a professor of finance, statistics, economics, and decision theory at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.

He is an avid reader of novels and stories and particularly admires Juan Rulfo and Ernest Hemingway.
