Rubio

Rubio was a British thoroughbred racehorse that won the 1908 Grand National.

The horse was purchased in 1898 for the low valuation of 15 guineas owing to a persistent injury. He was famously trained back to fitness by being employed pulling a bus in Towcester.

Rubio is one of the largest town of Tachira State. Its importance derived from the coffe production and the nearby commerce that exists with Colombia. The former president Carlos Andres Perez was born in Rubio.

Rubio has beautiful natural tunnels called la Cueva de los miagros. There some rivers and waterfalls and the outskirts of the town. The town has several bridges reason why it's called "Ciudad Pontalida". Rubio is located in the west side of Tachira state at 40 minutes drive to San Cristobal, capital of Tachira.
