Welcome to my Wikipedia user page!

Me as a person: visit my LiveJournal user-profile page.

Me as a Wikipedian:

  • Most of my contentful contributions are in the areas of mathematics and linguistics; I've started a number of articles in these areas, but mostly I prefer to add information to articles that already exist.
  • I like to copy-edit/clean up articles I come across.
  • I try to avoid articles about controversial topics; I support the Neutral Point of View policy, but prefer to let other people deal with the details of actually implementing it. ;-)
  • That said, you'd be amazed how many POV disputes come up in grammar articles. Some prescriptivists (usually unregistered/logged-out users) will insist that Wikipedia label a given usage "wrong," and this can lead to revert wars . . .
  • If you have a problem with any edit I make, it's probably best to leave a comment on the article's talk-page (and I usually watch articles I've edited recently, so I'll probably see it). If you want to be sure that I see your comment, feel free to drop me a note on my talk page, and I'll see it next time I visit Wikipedia, or to send me an e-mail.
