Ruaumoko

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Māori mythology, Ruaumoko is the youngest son of Rangi and Papa. He has never been born and remains inside his mother's womb. His movements are considered the cause of earthquakes. Also known as Ruamoko.

In other forms of Māori mythology, Ruaumoko was born and clung to Mother Papa's breast until he fell into the Underworld. There, when he walked he created earthquakes in the upper-world. He is also known as Hine Titama's husband.
