RUAG is a Swiss technology company, with its holding in Bern. It has production sites in Switzerland, Germany (Oberpfaffenhofen, Hamburg und Fürth) and Sweden (Åmotfors). All the shares are in the hand of the Swiss Confederation.

The RUAG has following subsidiaries:

  • RUAG Aerospace (aviation, space for civil and military use)
  • RUAG Ammotec (small-calibre ammunition up to 12,7 mm for defence, law enforcement, hunting and sport). Producing subsidiaries in Germany and Sweden (Norma). The products for the civil market are branded under the names RWS, Geco and Rottweil.
  • RUAG Components (component manufacturing and recycling with products mainly for the civil market)
  • RUAG Electronics (simulation and training, telematics, maintenance, network enabled operations etc.)
  • RUAG Land System (combat and support vehicles)
