RTPN is Rádio e Televisão de Portugal's 24-hour cable and satellite news channel. RTPN was launched in 2001 as NTV, a cable news channel headquartered on Porto. It was originally a joint-venture between PT Multimédia, Lusomundo and the RTP. In 2003 it was completely acquired by RTP. The channel produces news output and factual programmes for RTP1, RTP2 and RTP Internacional, and simulcasts most domestic news programmes aired on RTP1.
