[edit] Editors that don't provide an edit summary tend to look like vandals
I have noticed you commonly don't enter an edit summary as you didn't when you edited Cannibal Corpse discography (see this edit). This causes me problems. When I patrol for vandalism, I use the summary to make a preliminary decision on whether or not the post is a vandal edit or not. If the summary is present (or at least a section header, the part inside the /* */), I commonly decide the edit is legit and move on.
However, if no edit summary is available, I typically resort to loading the diff for the edit. This takes time. For that reason, if your edits are all valid, I ask that you provide edit summaries. For more on how to enter an edit summary, please read Help:Edit summary.
Incidentally, it is not just me that appreciate having edit summaries. When you omit your summary, you may be telling various bots that you are vandalizing pages. For this reason, please consider providing that summary. It is very important. You can enter that summary via the edit summary box on edit pages (as shown below).
- Page history - list of changes to the page you edited
- User contributions - list of all your edits
- Watchlist* - list of recent changes to watched pages (logged-in users only)
- diff page - shows the difference between two edits
- Recent changes - list of all recent edits
- Wikipedia IRC channels - real time list of all edits
- Related changes - list of recent changes to pages linked to the page you edited
- List of new pages: shows the edit summary of the creation.

[edit] Don't delete warnings etc. from your talk page
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. [edit] Linkin Park leak
Why would you remove that it was leaked?Chris Nelson 16:14, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, I like what you said about the album on the discussion of LP's new MTM. I miss talking with people that like LP and I don't like to hang out in forums that much. Add me if you want and if you have MSNmessenger: tonich03@hotmail.com. Cheers.Tonich03 04:25, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
I didn't remove that it was leaked, I moved the mention to a separate section, not that this isn't apparent already seeing as how I'm commenting on the question almost a month later! R-Tiztik 23:19, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] MM.com
Sine the talk page for Marilyn Manson (band) is a bit deserted at the moment, I decided to ask your opinion: I've been thinking about doing a separate article about the official Manson website, I just don't really know if the subject is notable enough or is it a good idea at all. GoldengloveContribs ·Talk 10:50, 18 May 2007 (UTC)
- About editing MMCOM - of course you can edit it. GoldengloveContribs ·Talk 15:17, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
The article about the website is near-finished (there are a few images to upload, it'll be the last thing to do, I think), but I didn't find any info about the MA-era website. Have you seen it for yourself (I didn't)? GoldengloveContribs ·Talk 18:23, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- O.K., I've "launched it" marilynmanson.com and created a link from the band page. Thank you very much for your help and suggestions. GoldengloveContribs ·Talk 13:45, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Why?
...must you keep moving comments and changing indenting on talk pages? (in particular Talk:Minutes to Midnight (album). It makes tracking discussions virtually impossible when stuff is getting moved, and all sense of threading is destroyed by someone coming along and playing with it. --85.134.141.187 21:31, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Untitled
Where did the title "Untitled" come from? There's no reference and the website of Korn's indicates that the album is Untitled, but not that its title is actually that name. --lincalinca 06:45, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] It's Time to See Religion Die
Is the album out yet? I tried looking for reviews on AllMusicGuide.com, but nothing popped up. And now, the article here on Wikipedia is saying that the album hasn't even been released yet? This is strange, I thought that it was confirmed for a 7/7/07 release. Do you know anything about this, seeing as you are the last person to update that page? Dark Executioner 01:40, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Dark Executioner
- Thanks for the tip! By the way, is your user name a spinoff of the word "artistic?" Hmmm... In your own humbler opinion, do you think that this album is even worth checking out?
- Dark Executioner 15:51, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Dark Executioner
You got shit with me bro?
- Hey man, I haven't been able to get on the computer the past couple of days. Summer school. You should go and check www.kornunleashed.net. They've been talking about Head a lot lately. Write me back and let me know if we can put any of that stuff in his article. Bye!

[edit] Discussion topics
Dear Rtiztik,
I was hoping that you and I could become pals. I have some questions for you:
Are you a fan of:
- Black Sabbath (any era)
- Slayer
- Pantera
- Children of Bodom
- or Rob Zombie?
(These are just a few of my favorite bands; visit my user page!
How do you put images onto Wikipedia? A bunch of album covers are missing from the Black Sabbath page.
And... Are you a fan of The Sopranos? Let me know, and I appreciate any help on the images advice! Dark Executioner 20:57, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Dark Executioner
- This are my last things to talk to you about today: What concerts have you been to? I've seen (in chronological order) Velvet Revolver, NOFX, Slayer (the Unholy Alliance Tour), Rob Zombie w/ Shinedown & Godsmack, Black Label Society w/ Sanctity, and on August 11th, 2007, when they come to my hometown of Atlanta, GA, Korn on the Family Values Tour.
- You're 16, dude? I was born in November 1989! Most of the kids my age, who even listen to rock music, only care about mainstream bands like Three Days Grace, Fall Out Boy, 30 SEconds To Mars and the like. Yeah, most of the kids at my high school are either the "gangsta"-type African-Americans who listen to rap, or Hispanics that listen to Hispanic music. Not saying that there's anything wrong with that; to each his/her own. But I'd like to find more people who share my interests, like you.
- Oh, thanks for helping me with images! I'll try and restore some Black Sabbath album covers and more tomorrow.
- Nice selection in music, dude! I didn't know you were one of the guys who operated WikiManson or whatever (I didn't even know that existed!) Marilyn Manson's music is great if you're in an industrial mood, but I'm more of a thrash/death metal fan. Personally, I prefer his older albums to Eat Me, Drink Me, but I'm glad that he's finally making music again!

You've heard of Sepultura, right? Their original drummer, Igor Cavalera, is currently drumming for Necro. I'm kinda worried about Sepultura, though... Even though guitarist Andreas Kisser has been with the band for 20 years (and I pretty much consider him an "original" member), bassist Paulo Pinto is the sole-remaining member of the band. Kind of like Tony Iommi was Sab's only original member throughout the years. Singer Derrick Green is OK, but I don't think he's as good of a singer/screamer as max Cavalera was. And now, Sepultura has brought in Jean Dollabella on drums; he's from some alt-rock/post-grunge Brazilian band called Udora. Who knows, though; maybe their upcoming album will be a pleasant surprise for longtime fans (such as myself).
That really does suck that you've never been to a concert... Once you start, it's like a drug, you just can't stop!!!
Talk to you again soon, dude! Slayer can be our next discussion if you like. Dark Executioner 19:06, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Dark Executioner
- Wassup man! Have you heard about Rob Zombie's latest musical approach? He's going to guest-star on Three Six Mafia's upcoming release. I find that odd, in that he's the only metal guest artist and all the rest are rap, but in a way not so odd, since that rap group is "Satanic."
- By the way, the comment in It's Time To See Religion Die ("You got shit with me, bro?") was something that an unsigned user did, not me. Since we haven't spoke in a few days, I was just clarifying that.

[edit] Counter-Racism/"End of the World"
Y'know, at least where I live (ATL, GA), counter-racism is very strong, as is plain-old racism. It seems that EVERY non-White race out there is blaming all of their inconvieniences and problems on people like me. Whites who have never done anything to these people (in the past couple of decades, at least). We've even cleared out our wooded areas to make new houses and places to work; they filled these. I thought that it would be a positive contribution to our community. I'm all for racial unification.
But here comes hip-hop with counter-racist songs (take Kanye West's "George Bush Don't Like Black People" and, not sure who it's by, "White Man Down" to stir up unnessicary and damaging counter-racism. Dude, when I was 12, I got mugged, black eye and all, because I walked through a little gathering of black people in my middle school. I kid you not.
Now let's discuss illegal aliens. These people are incredibly common in my community as well. Throughout America's history, we've always been open towards immigrants. Hell, that's how my great-great-grandparents got here: they were German peasants, escaping that country just as the Nazi movement was taking shape. Jews, Germans, Irish, Italian, Polish, Russian... What do all of these past immigrant waves have in common? For the most part, THEY WERE LEGAL CITIZENS. I have no problem with Hispanic people, especially if they abide by America's set rules for becoming legal citizens. I think that it's incredibly wrong what the illegal immigrants are doing: stealing jobs and houses, escaping taxes and taking our currency into their country and coming back loaded. There's just something wrong with that.
Basically, it's Black/Hispanic/Asian/Bosnian/anyone else you can think of... versus White. What the Hell did I ever do? Why does my life, and the lives of so many others, have to be basically persecuted?
Some might say that the end of the world will be caused by "the wrath of God." Not in my opinion. If things keep going the way that they are, we will be. I don't like to be negative and critical of others, but this counter-racist movement has to stop. Dark Executioner 19:17, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Dark Executioner
[edit] Korn's Untitled Leak
So, how is it? Dark Executioner 22:20, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Dark Executioner
- Poppy, huh? I didn't think what I heard of the album was NEARLY as poppy as SYOTOS. Plus, didn't Jon Davis himself say that Atticus Ross gave the songs a more "gothic" sound? Either I heard wrong or Jon flat out lied about what the album sounds like. "Evolution" sounds pretty gothic to me, as does "I Will Protect You." Hm... I'll still go and buy the album.
- P.S. Compared to some of the other bands I listen to, such as Slayer, Dying Fetus and Cannibal Corpse, Korn can sound pretty weak in comparison. But I don't compare Korn to those guys because they're a completely different style of heavy metal.
- As far as the Korn reunion goes, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. If they ever do, though... How will they work the SYOTOS and Untitled songs? Would they do what Black Sabbath did (Ozzy sings only material from 1970-1978) and play only Korn-Take a Look in the Mirror material, or have Head learn the rhythm guitar parts that Munky played on the album? Heh, it's a neat thing to think about, but we'll just have to see what happens.
- BTW, thanks for posting on my discussion page again, man!

[edit] Reverted edits
Please don't revert my edits without explaining why on the talk page. I reworded an awkward (and not to mention grammatically messy) sentence, removed a redundant wiki link, and took out a sentence segment that was worded badly and read like an advertisement (see WP:NOT). Also, I think both possible meanings (or none at all) of the album title should be displayed at the top of the article, unless there has been some confirmation of the intended meaning. Thank you. Hotdoglives 10:12, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- If you look at the article history and are still unable to see the grammatical errors I fixed, I would be happy to point them out for you. AFI was linked to in both the first and second paragraph. You generally only need to link to another article once. I also added Puget and Havok's wikified names to the top paragraph, since they are mentioned elsewhere in the article, but by last name only and without being linked.
- As for the Hot Topic sentence, I mainly removed the information because it was also a grammatical mess (with bad wiki links), but I also didn't think it was of great encyclopedic value that 15 people will get a fucking button. And "exclusive art" is too vague. Are they being given exclusive art, or just getting to look at it, and what is it anyways? If the Stiff Kittens single is a Hot Topic exclusive, then it should certainly be included in the article, but there was no clarification on the subject. Not to mention, citation was not provided.
- As for the double meaning of the album name, it is a matter of opinion until otherwise noted. It's clearly meant to be a double entendre (as the original album by Cex also certainly was). I think "Sex Cells" is just as valid of an interpretation as "Sex Sells". Otherwise, what would be the point in spelling it with C's in the first place? Hotdoglives 22:29, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] SFU and Hey!
It's been forever, but I know that you and I go way back. Listen dude, I've placed a peer review notice on Six Feet Under's talk page asking people for their input on what can be done to make the page better. I don't know if you like them, but I do know that you've edited Cannibal Corpse material in the past, so I was just wondering if you were interested in helping me out. What I need help with most right now is adding sources. There are 6 really good ones, but apparently they're not enough. If you can help... please do so! Thanks, Dark Executioner (talk) 00:17, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Bloodwork (album)
Please don't remove maintenance notices such as {{unref}} on articles such as Bloodwork (album) unless the requested work has been done. Thanks!--Fabrictramp (talk) 22:42, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] (Live at Riviera)
iTunes Deluxe Edition:
- "Down With the Sickness (Live at Riviera)"
- "Just Stop (Live at Riviera)"
- "Stricken (Live at Riviera)"
- "Stupify (Live at Riviera)"
The tracks should be kept with the quotation marks after the (Live at Riviera), because the names of the tracks are not simply "Down with the Sickness", etc, etc, they are "Down With The Sickness (Live at Riviera)" and I think we should put quotations around the entire song name. Dude527 (talk) 23:44, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Bleed the Sky
Hi, I noticed you have "moved" the content of the above page to a new title (Bleed the Sky (album)) by copy&paste method. This wasn't the correct way! Please see WP:MOVE where it says:
Do not move or rename a page by copying/pasting its content, because doing so destroys the edit history. (The GFDL requires acknowledgement of all contributors, and editors continue to hold copyright on their contributions unless they specifically give up this right. Hence it is required that edit histories be preserved for all major contributions until the normal copyright expires.)
I've fixed the histories of these two pages for you. Please be more careful next time. :) Best regards, --PeaceNT (talk) 11:53, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
