[edit] MechScape
Hi Ren! I noticed the article you've created on MechScape. Nothing wrong with it of course, it might just be jumping the gun a tad, but... I've created a new thread about MechScape at WT:RUNESCAPE#MechScape, if you'd like to comment. Cheers! CaptainVindaloo t c e 21:39, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Don't take the AfD too hard, whatever you do. I'd honestly prefer to see it redirected, so we can preserve the edit history for the inevitable recreation and present an oppurtunity for merging. A straight copy-and-paste with a little biting off the corners to fit should work. Seriously, don't feel down about it. :-) CaptainVindaloo t c e 18:53, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of Mechscape
I have nominated Mechscape, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mechscape (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. [edit] Re: Runescape
No specific image, I just thought any sort of image was necessary to give the public a general idea. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DakotaDAllen (talk • contribs) 22:08, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Office Open XML free
Why are you disputing the evident fact that OOXML is free. As all Ecma standards are. Who is charging money for it then ? hAl (talk) 19:57, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Just because nobody is charging doesn't mean it is "free", as it is my understanding that implementations of the specification could be covered by Microsoft patents (see Groklaw). --RS Ren (talk) 10:44, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Reading groklaw on MS related issues and taking them serieus is just a bit laughable. And even then even the groklaw the article never suggests the licensing for format would not be free. However it is an old article that suggests the free licensing would only apply to Micrsoft version of the format (Office 12 format) and not to the Ecma standard version of it. Very interesting how bad a forecast that was as Micrsoft extended the OSP licensing to the Ecma formats from day one after standardization in 2006 and has also commited to doing so for the upcumming ISO version. hAl (talk) 13:51, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
