Hey, welcome to my User Page. To tell you a little bit about myself, I'm just your average Midwesterner, I'm a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs, and I enjoy watching anime and browsing the internet in general, of course. I'm a cum laude alumnus from DePauw University, having specialized in history and political science.
In some way or another, most of my edits to Wikipedia revolve around articles that involve anime, webcomics, webtoons, videogames, or political matters. Beyond that though, most of my other edits are from merely browsing random subjects or removing obvious vandalisms.

Manga-Gaga is an online, hand-drawn comedic webcomic created by Aaron Foster (aka - "The GagaMan") in 2001. Originally known as Sega-Gaga, after a Sega Dreamcast game, Manga-Gaga draws upon most if its humor from various videogame and anime references. Almost all of the comic strips are in simple black and white, but a few have been fully colored for some reason or another. It should be noted that unless one actually is an active videogame and anime fan, many jokes in the comic will go unnoticed as Gagaman has shown a knack at making inside jokes of even the most trivial parts of Japanese pop culture that is widely unknown to residents of the United States and other Western countries. That being said, there are also countless references to more well-known forms of popular fiction, so Manga-Gaga can easily be humourous to even the most casual anime/videogame fan. Characters and situations from Dragonball, Naruto, Sonic the Hedgehog, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Pokemon, Harry Potter, Tenchi Muyo, and even Ren & Stimpy have made appearances on many occasions throughout the course of the comic. In addition, the usage of sexual humor (especially in the case of Sonic) is yet another way for the comic to get a laugh.
On August 12, 2004, Aaron Foster celebrated Manga-Gaga's 100th comic by releasing the Macromedia Flash animation "Manga-Gaga 100 Omake" on Newgrounds with a relatively moderate level of success. While the animation was one of the first widespread introductions of the comic, Gagaman himself later jokingly lamented the flood of hentai perverts that came from Newgrounds to his site in a later comic (see [1]). Foster likewise celebrated the launch of the fourth season of the series by releasing the 150th comic as a flash file on his own website. This was the first comic in the series to be made in a flash format.
As of July 2005, Manga-Gaga's website has recorded over 150,000 hits since its inception in 2001; the Newgrounds omake has been viewed over 300,000 times. The comic has a reasonable and loyal fanbase, which many forum members and fans making cameo appearances in the comic.
[edit] Main Characters
- Gagaman - The main hero, protagonist, and star of the series, Gagaman is also the butt of many jokes as he tends to be put in many circumstances that involve a great deal of pain and/or humiliation. A downright perverted otaku, Gagaman has shown an incredible knowledge of all things Japan on many circumstances. His love for anime and videogames is only matched by his taste for tea and biscuits (an obvious stereotype on his British heritage) and his desire to become a ninja. It should likewise be noted that Gaga is very unlucky and very lazy, so his dreams of becoming a ninja will most likely go unaccomplished. On the bright side though, he has an impressive anime girl collection in his closet.
- Mia - aka - The Muffin Princess - Mia is a catgirl fangirl from America whose sole purpose is to appear cute and torment Gagaman at all possible times. Despite being a catgirl, she also has angel wings (for some reason). She is very hyperactive, violent, and insane and has on numerous occasion critically wounded Gagaman for little to no reason at all. Mia's favorite food is muffins. She also uses her favorite food as a weapons when she wields her "muffin cannon" at all who annoy her (especially Sasami).
- Sasami - Your run of the mill anime girl, Sasami appears to belong in the Tenchi Muyo universe on account of her unbelievable good looks and her obsession with a relatively nerdy man (i.e. - Gagaman). After her first appearance in the comic, she went on a long hiatus on account of the fact that was trapped in Gaga's anime girl collection for a long while.
- SNAPP - SNAPP, short for "SSSNAPMACHRRGWWTPLNH," which is in turn an acronym for "Sasami Sakuya Skuld Naota Asuka Pai Melfina Arle Chun-Li Haruko Rei Rui Ginrei Waha Washuu Tomoyo Pan Lilica Nakoruru Honey," is the perfect anime girl. A Cyborg, combining the looks and personalities of many, many anime female characters, she is every Otaku's dream come true. Unfortunately, due to her mixed personalities, SNAPP is prone to outbursts of violent rage, followed by periods of loving tranquility, followed by even more burst of violent rage, which in turn precedes yet another period of peace, etc. Has a Love/Kill switch on her nipple, and a slap on the bum will turn her into a rampaging Mecha.
- Segata Sanshiro - An experienced samurai and a long-time Sega fanboy, Segata has a downright hatred of all things not-Sega. On numerous occasions, he is forced to dispatch otherwise worthy people on account of playing non-Sega systems. His bushido pride is so strong that he even attempted to break his own neck after accidentally playing a Virtua Fighter game on the Sony PlayStation 2.
- Maraca Vegeta - One of the most beloved running gags of the comic, Maraca Vegeta is a hyper-stereotyped Mexican version of the evil Saiyan prince from Dragonballz. Instead of fighting his opponents, Maraca Vegeta simply dances around and plays his maracas during battles. He has made numerous appearances throughout the comic's history despite the character Gagaman's apparent dislike of him. He is, by all mean, a complete idiot.
- ACE - Also Known as "The Bearded Git or Captain Caveman, whom, after introducing himself out of no-where, has become the mad inventor of the group. He invented the above mentioned SNAPP, as well as various other devices in the comic, including the GagaMech (which is itself, taken from concept drawings and images from Manga Gaga's "brother comic" Cosmic Hero. ) and Mia's Muffin Cannon He is said to suffer from a curse a demon zombie from mars cast on him, causing him to constantly have as much hair as a middle aged man who hasn't shaved. This is actually a in-joke between Aaron Foster and the real life person ACE is based off. He has an obession with the character Sally Acorn.
- Mr. Bishy - Manga-Gaga's satirical take on a bishounen, Mr. Bishy is constantly depressed and angst-ridden due to the legions of fangirls that follow him around, and the more depressed he gets, the more these fangirls love him (see [2]). Has made several appearances in the comic; the first having him being attacked by Opa-opa from the Sega Master System game Fantasy Zone.
