Located on the right bank of the river Khava. Nearby locations: Hlebnoe, Hrenovoe, Orlovo. The direct bus service to Voronezh, through Novaya Usman.

Based on the first decade in the XVIII. Called for Christmas church and place on the river Khava. For in 1859 in the village had 248 yards and a population of 2787 peoples.

The village has a middle school, a music school, a library, a house of culture, the church, a bank, hospital, a village council, the post office, sawmill, a few food shops business. Scheduled to complete gasification of the village, taking the preparatory work.
