[edit] Plot outline
A time slot at the radio station (KACL) becomes available after one of the on-air talents take a "million-dollar TV deal". Roz decides to audition for the position with a show about the single life and dating in Seattle. Her interview is successful and is told by the station manager that she is the candidate to beat. However, during Roz's interview, Bebe Glazer, Frasier's agent, turns up to the station with some potential competition, and Frasier expresses his feelings to Bebe about Roz applying for the new job. He says that he will be very upset if she is indeed successful and that he will have a hard time trying to find a new producer with whom he works as well as he does with Roz.
Roz does not end up getting the job and stays on as Frasier's producer. Bebe secretly tells Frasier that the reason Roz was unsuccessful is because Bebe told the station management that Frasier would quit if Roz left as his producer. Frasier, feeling terribly guilty, decides to tell Roz that it was because of him that she is still his producer. He apologises to an irate Roz and says he'll do anything to make it up to him. The only thing that he can do to make it up to Roz is fire Bebe as his agent. Frasier reluctantly agrees.
Frasier and Roz go to Bebe's office to fire her. Bebe, seeing that she is about to get fired tells her receptionist "we're losing one, code red." Once inside her office, Frasier starts telling Bebe that sabotaging Roz's chance is unforgivable, however Bebe starts employing dirty tactics to make her client sympathise with her. For example, her receptionist comes in with a tray full of pills. Neither Frasier nor Roz believe these pills are real, but Frasier sees the label and declares that Bebe "really is sick!" Bebe sends her receptionist back to her desk claiming "the client comes first." Once she has left, the phone rings and Bebe puts it on speaker. The voice claims to be Bebe's niece and says that her mum, Bebe's sister, is sick. Frasier tells Bebe that he can see no outside lines lit up on the phone, and Bebe becomes upset and declares "the bulbs are broken!" However, she tells her niece that she is with a client and says, "you know what that means?" As the niece is saying, "the client comes first", Roz opens the door, revealing that it is in fact the receptionist pretending to be Bebe's niece. Roz, Frasier and Bebe begin to argue and Frasier and Roz tell Bebe that she has no conscience and will not stop at anything to get what she wants. Frasier fires Bebe, but Bebe offers her services as an agent to Roz. Roz, who has never had an agent, seems to suddenly soften up to Bebe, but Frasier takes her away and they leave. However, Roz left her bag in Bebe's office and as she goes back to collect it, she says to Bebe "lunch tomorrow?" to which Bebe replies "12:30" and names the restaurant.
