[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Picshow.asp.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Picshow.asp.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 00:29, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edit summaries
Okay, sorry about that. But life would be a lot easier if you'd had stated that the first time round, as a major removal from an article with a blank edit summary is almost always a vandal. I assumed as you didnt know that you must've been new. All fixed now, article is how you wanted it and warning removed. :) Glen 16:53, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please use edit summaries
Hello. Please be courteous to other editors and use edit summaries when updating articles. The Mathbot tool shows your usage of edit summaries to be very low:
- Edit summary usage for Roygene: 12% for major edits and 13% for minor edits. Based on the last 110 major and 8 minor edits in the article namespace.
Using edit summaries helps other editors quickly understand your edits, which is especially useful when you make changes to articles that are on others' watchlists. Thanks and happy editing! --Kralizec! (talk) 18:17, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging for Image:Will_Rogers_World_Airport.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Will_Rogers_World_Airport.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 13:50, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Atoka, OK
I noticed you reverted some vandalism on Atoka, Oklahoma. I'm guessing from your comment ("I ask my fellow Atokans to not vandalize this article") that you are from Atoka? It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere isn't it? Anyhow, I thought you might be interested in WikiProject Oklahoma to improve Oklahoma-related articles. -- Ash Lux (talk | contribs) 00:01, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi Roygene--looks like you reverted to the correct version--you did the right thing! Cheers, Antandrus (talk) 00:54, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Path_of_the_Trail_of_Tears.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Path_of_the_Trail_of_Tears.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Iamunknown 17:57, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Two copyvios
Greetings, Roygene. This message is to notify you that I previously tagged Image:High-school.jpg and Image:Downtown Atoka'.jpg as copyright violations, and that they will soon be deleted. The first image is from http://www.atokachamber.org/institutions.php and the second from http://www.atokachamber.org/about_us.php. They are both currently tagged with {{PD-US}}, which indicates that an image is, "in the public domain in the United States because it is a work of the United States Federal Government under the terms of 17 U.S.C. ยง 105." Neither image, however, is a work of the United States Federal Government, but instead is a work of Alabama State Government.
The Wikimedia Foundation takes copyright very seriously and, both in the spirit of promoting free content and of respecting others' intellectual property, hosts only content the copyright holder has freely-licensed (and some non-free content; see Wikipedia:Non-free content). Please be advised, Iamunknown 04:24, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
