[edit] ABC revisited
Thanks for the heads up. Things have been crazy over here, had a death in the family. You've certainly be patient and diligent. Would you mind giving me one more week? By the end of that time, I'll make a list of remaining/new issues (if any), and if I haven't made a list by the third, you are good to go. I really appreciate the reach out "across the aisle," so to speak. Hope you are enjoying the holidays... Phyesalis (talk) 16:13, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- I'd like to take the time to note a) that I do not support a GA relisting because the article, per your recent jettisoning of previous agreements now means that the article will be too unstable for GA (And may always be if we can't come to some significant and longstanding agreement on issues like source quality, OR interpretations, Daling, etc; and b) your attitude lately hasn't been as reasonable as it has been in the past. You really haven't tried to establish consensus in any of your recent changes and have been once again acting like you WP:OWN the article. Is there something wrong? [edit] Deletion warning?
I just recieved a message from you warning me not to delete pages? I'm not sure what it's about, since I haven't deleted anything. I just, you know, browse. Meh. Anyway, I went ahead and started my own account so hopefully this won't happen again. Dagoonite (talk) 16:17, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] A warning I got from you
I got a warning from you about deleting stuff from the page 1608, I have never been on it, could you explain what that was about?

[edit] Blade Runner pics
No problem. I put them in the most appropriate looking section of the article, feel free to move them around if you think there's a better spot. Also, let me know if you want me to try close-ups of any of the bits inside, like the unicorn or the spinner; I don't think my digital camera will do it, but I have a webcam in my office that will focus down to an inch or two, and I can grab a still from it. I may bring the case in and re-shoot the "VK" logo for the inset anyway, since it didn't come out too clearly. scot (talk) 17:20, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of Jeff Stein, American journalist
Dear RoyBoy, Just came your Aug 2007 message (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Ledewriter&redirect=no) explaining your decision to delete my entry for Jeff Stein, the American journalist and merge it with Jeff Stein, the Maryland politician who lost his run for Congress last year. The entry did not reappear there. As I've already indicated, I think you've erroneously conflated the two. They are entirely different persons. Perhaps you will reconsider. Here is the deleted entry.
Jeff Stein is the national security editor and SpyTalk columnist at Congressional Quarterly in Washington, DC. He is an investigative reporter of long standing in Washington, D.C., contributing articles on U.S. intelligence, defense and foreign policy topics for a wide variety of newspapers and magazines. An Army Intelligence case officer in Vietnam during 1968-69, Stein has authored three books: THE VIETNAM FACT BOOK: 1000 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON THE VIETNAM WAR (Dell,1987), A MURDER IN WARTIME: THE UNTOLD SPY STORY THAT CHANGED THE COURSE OF THE VIETNAM WAR (St. Martin's Press, 1992); and (with Khidhir Hamza) SADDAM'S BOMBMAKER (Scribner 2000). In 2002, Congressional Quarterly recruited Stein to launch and edit the daily CQ/Homeland Security online publication. In 2005 he became CQ National Security Editor and launched a weekly column, SpyTalk, which gained a measure of fame when top U.S. counterterrorism officials and members of the House Intelligence Committee couldn't answer such basic questions as, "Can you tell a Sunni from a Shiite?" An occasional contributor to the New York Times and Washington Post, Stein was deputy foreign editor for UPI during the 1980s. He appears frequently on CBS, CNN, MSNBC, Fox, the BBC and NPR] as a commentator on national security issues. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ledewriter (talk • contribs) 23:13, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] editing: Samuel Roth
I have tried to add an image to my contribution. I read the images section in the manual. It describes the code, but not how to put an image in the text. Does the image have to be posted somehow to wikipedia before it will be shown on the screen? I looked at already existing images and they have a named image. I suppose it exists somewhere before being added. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jgertzma (talk • contribs) 01:55, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the work on my Samuel Roth entry. I've made some corrections and will add more. Is there a single style, page that explains how to use external links, line breaks, headings, etc. Also, when will the notice about the Roth page needing to be Wikified be removed? --Jay Gertzman —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jgertzma (talk • contribs) 05:22, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] minor vandalism on Ballerina
I notice that you reverted the Ballerina article on a previous occasion to fix some vandalism. There is new (albeit minor) vandalism on that article (and possibly Cadbury Schweppes as well). I would revert it myself but am a relative newbie and don't know how. Could you be so good? Robert Greer (talk) 18:39, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for fixing it so fast! Robert Greer (talk) 01:18, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Looking for Wikipedians for a User Study
Hello. I am a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota. We are conducting research on ways to engage content experts on Wikipedia. Previously, Wikipedia started the Adopt-a-User program to allow new users to get to know seasoned Wikipedia editors. We are interested in learning more about how this type of relationship works. Based on your editing record on Wikipedia, we thought you might be interested in participating. If chosen to participate, you will be compensated for your time. We estimate that most participants will spend an hour (over two weeks on your own time and from your own computer) on the study. To learn more or to sign up contact KATPA at CS dot UMN dot EDU or User:KatherinePanciera/WPMentoring. Thanks. KatherinePanciera (talk) 02:38, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Origin of Consciousness - Book Cover.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Origin of Consciousness - Book Cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 07:17, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Diabetes Mellitus Type 1
Hi, I noticed that your May 14th edit of said article removed my request for a citation with a reordering of the sentence, to appear as follows: "This has suggested a genetic vulnerability and there is indeed an observed inherited tendency to develop Type 1.[1]"
The given citation had been accurately placed as a reference for the suggested genetic vulnerability; however, it does not even broach the subject of it being a hereditary trait. Genetic does not, of course, equal hereditary. I've heard stated and seen written the presumed hereditary element of type 1 diabetes (often erroneously based on well-founded type II diabetes research), but I have yet to find any published study attesting to it. I would not be surprised if there were one...but I would still like to see it. Do you have such a reference or was there another motivation for the change?
Thanks for your attention, --AnthroGael (talk) 04:19, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
