This is a Wikipedia user page.

This is not an encyclopedia article. This is not a bicycle. This is not a fish. If you find this page on any site other than Wikipedia, you are viewing a mirror site. Be aware that the page may be slightly silly and that the user this page belongs to may have no personal affiliation with any site other than Wikipedia itself. This page will self destruct in 10 seconds. It is unclear why anybody would give a dead rat's third left front metacarpal about anything on this page. [edit] My view on current events

I think Wikipedia should have a policy that no source which is less than 90 days old should be allowed to be cited as a source. That would eliminate a lot of the crazy rush to be first with some piece of breaking news or the writing of articles about the latest silly thing going round the Internet. We're an encyclopedia, not a newspaper. -- RoySmith (talk) 15:11, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Coming out of the closet

Ok, I know you've all been picking up on the little hints, but have been too polite to say anything. Well, I can't hide it any more. It's really for the best if I admit to the world what I am, and if some people can't handle it, that's their problem.

At first, I thought it was just innocent curiosity, but after a while I realized that I enjoyed it. No, that's not right; enjoy is too shallow a word. It just felt right. It felt natural. It felt like I was being who I was meant to be. I didn't need to be ashamed of it. I realize I may be different from most folks, but I'm comfortable with that. And in recognition of that new-found understanding of who I am, I've decided to join the Association of Deletionist Wikipedians.

There. I've said it. I feel better now.

[edit] What I think about fancy signatures

I don't like them. It's certainly cute that you can make your sig look funny, or be in colors, or Cthulhu help us, have images. Some day, I expect we'll see animated sigs, and maybe even audio sigs. But, they are both a distraction and an affectation. Would you rather be recognized and remembered for the intelligent words you write, or for the cutsie way you sign your name?

[edit] Userboxes

Personally, I think userboxes are inane, pointless, and distracting. However, I have come to realize that some people are far too full of themselves, and a little inane, pointless, distraction can be a good thing. And, for those of you who keep track of these things, I'm into the Serial comma.
