[edit] History

I was born and raised in New Hampshire until I was 9. Financially, my family limped on for a couple of years after the late 1980s recession, which hit my birth-state particularly hard. When nearly all had been lost, we made the California Or Bust trip, landing me in Santa Maria for the duration of my childhood.

I joined the United States Air Force after highschool and achieved journeyman level status as a ground mobile forces satellite communications technician.

I served in Pakistan during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Mountain Viper in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, I had little contact with the local culture there, due to the somewhat regional hostility towards American soldiers.

I spent my last year and a half in Camp Humphreys, bordering Anjung-ri, South Korea. I acquired a black belt in Taekwondo from a local instructor / part-time fire chief / and sub-district mayor of Anjung-ri. I became quite fond of the local cuisine, especially Yukkaejong. I taught myself to read, write, and speak Hangul to a certain extent.

After finishing my enlistment, I returned to California and ventured south to San Diego, where I currently reside.

[edit] Hacking

I returned home from a local arcade one day, when I was around 11 years old, and told my dad excitedly that I wanted to make a video game just like Street Fighter 2. He promptly explained the extreme basics of how computer programs were made and handed me a beginners book to BASIC for the TRS-80 computer that we had at the time. The rest of my programming simply evolved from that point.

I picked up C/C++ around 13 and PHP, Perl when I was 15, and PHP when I was 19.
