From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 800 Club is the last line of defense to ensure Wikipedia articles are 800x600 friendly, while meeting a high standard of aesthetics in other resolutions such as 1024x768. This means a browser on a 800x600 screen sized edge to edge (not maximized) should be able to display an article with no horizontal bar.

[edit] 800x600 Compliance (R8C)
Found an article that isn't 800x600 compliant?
Name'er here and well get get'er back into liner.
Ironically, this page isn't compliant when using IE 5.1 on a Mac at 800x600. Then again, none of the Wikipedia pages are... stupid IE side nav tabs. WAvegetarian (talk) (email) (contribs) 08:13, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Known Bugs
- Internet Explorer 6 will interpret italics with an extra space making a horizontal bar appear when italics is on the edge of an article. So disambiguation notices and titles can make articles not fit. Hopefully that will be corrected in the next version; Firefox does not have this problem.
- When tables are coded with width=100% MediaWiki will render them with extra margin. The easiest thing is to remove the width entirely, but if necessary reduce it to width=98%. (99% works for Firefox 1.0, 98% works for IE6 as well)
- A bug in Gecko (Firefox 1.0) CSS rendering will result in the top margin value not being recognized for images.
[edit] FAQ

- A: So?

Either spelling, British or American, is okay by me. :) NetK 19:55, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
