[edit] Roy and Silo brakeup -September 28, 2005
After six years with Roy, Silo has fallen for a female penguin named Scrappy. Information found at http://www.planetout.com/news/feature.html?sernum=1232 and http://www.gay.com/news/roundups/package.html?sernum=1232&navpath=/channels/news/opinion—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.86.111.161 (talk • contribs) 19:53, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Those are links to the same story published on two different sites. If anyone decides to cite them, I suggest not citing them both since that would be redundant.--Teddywithfangs 06:44, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] LGBT or Parenting
I don't know how much of this is realted to LGBT issues versus parenting and non-traditional families. It seems to me to be more of a parenting issue among the penguins, but this does stem from their biological drive to procreate. If this could be expanded covering Roy and Silos behavior over the six years they were a couple that would help a great deal. Comparing and contrasting this to the children's book could be good.
I do think this article would be a good part of parenting in the amimal world along with an article on same sex coupling of animals. But it can get complicated when humans try to parallel their own behaviors with that of animals. Even more complex when we try to parallel human thoughts and feelings, as there is not 100% understanding between humans and animals. --EarthPerson 16:35, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tango the lesbian penguin
I agree with the last editor that the fact Roy and Silo broke up is significant, but I wonder if anyone thinks a brief mention of the fact that Tango has been in a committed same-sex relationship is noteworthy. (Link) Perhaps moreso if anyone knows of a more recent source article? --BBrucker2 00:34, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Like the mention currently in the article? Because that one seems fine to me. --Alynna 03:40, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

- Oops, how did I miss that? It must be hard to pick out specific details from such a long and detailed article. ; ) --BBrucker2 20:12, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Tangopenguin.jpg
Image:Tangopenguin.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
