Royale Airlines was a medium sized commuter airline that operated in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee and Pensacola, Florida from the 1960s to the late 1980s. It flew mainly turboprop aircraft such as the Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante , Beechcraft 99 and Grumman Gulfstream G-1s.Royale also flew 2 DC-9-14's from Houston,Tx. to Brownsville,Tx.Royale also had a codeshare agreement with Continental Airlines during Royales' final years. Royale filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on 9/9/1987 Royale's Chapter 11 was changed to Chapter 7 in February 1989
