Royal Varuna Yacht Club (RVYC) is a yacht club along the coast of Pattaya, Thailand. It is well known for its excellent service, pleasant location and friendly atmosphere.

[edit] Accommodation
Generally, accommodation is divided among three groups: single rooms, family-sized motel rooms and a cabana, in which more permanent members tend to stay.
Single rooms and family-sized accommodation vary in furnishings, but are generally minimalist. Some rooms will contain bunk beds. Most rooms are not equipped with air-conditioning, but with ceiling fans. Single rooms normally do not have private bathrooms and it is necessary to share public showers in the same motel block. While accommodation is appropriate, the Royal Varuna Yacht Club is a serious club for those interested in socializing and sailing.
Rooms are divided into motel blocks, built behind the main reception area, which extend across to the other side of the main road.

The Royal Varuna Yacht Club is a sailing club, and contains services one would expect of a sailing club (boat storage, boat repair and parking).
Rocky cliffs block one end of the RVYC's secluded beach, which continues some distance to the next hotel. As the RVYC is secluded, the water tends to be clean and during certain months, sea cucumbers can be seen in the water.
A beach bar is located along the walk up from the beach to the main reception, which is open for organized events. Boats tend to be parked on the grass to extends from the beach. A giant chess board, a children's area and a swimming pool are also located nearby.
Most socializing and official business occurs at the main reception area (the 'Club House'). There is also a kitchen and bar on the main floor. The rest of the area is filled with tables and chairs, used for eating, drinking and socializing. Next to the Club House is a "Kid's Club", for children to keep company and eat. The second floor of the Club House houses offices and a television area.

Sailing events are frequent and the RVYC is a well respected club. Racing events occur most weekends and there are annual events with sailors from other parts of Asia.
It is possible to rent boats, and instructional courses are provided.

The Royal Varuna Yacht Club is famous for having been bestowed Royal Patronage by H. M. the King.

RVYC is located outside of the city, Pattaya, a popular tourist location. Other hotels exist nearby, but far enough that RVYC is surrounded by dense bush. The RVYC is located near other amusements, such as the water park, Pattaya Park, and kart racing.
