Royal Exchange Square
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Royal Exchange Square is a public square in the City of Glasgow in Scotland. The Square is situated at the junction of Queen Street with Ingram Street. The square is a prominent Landmark with the Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art sitting within it. It also has a large Borders Store at the Buchanan Street Entrance. Along the sides of the square are lots of open Air Cafes and restaurants. The Square is lit up near Christmas Time with a Large net of Lights between the Gallery of Modern Art and surrounding Buildings. At the Queen Street Entrance to the square there is a statue of the duke of Wellington which usually has a Traffic Cone placed on his head. This was a joke by Youngsters at Night but now the Council sees it as a landmark and now leaves the cone on his head.
