The Royal Asscher Diamond Company (Dutch: Koninklijke Asscher Diamant Maatschappij) was founded in 1854 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and still stands at Tolstraat 127.

Abraham and Joseph Asscher developed the Asscher cut diamond in 1902. This is a square emerald cut with cropped corners. It was very popular in the 1920s but went out of fashion, only to have regained some of its popularity recently. It featured on Sex and the City and has been the cut used in some celebrity engagement rings.

Abraham and Joseph Asscher cut the enormous 530.20 carat Cullinan diamond at the request of King Edward VII.

Abraham Asscher was actively involved in many Jewish organizations and was a conservative politician.
