[edit] Structure
[edit] Original Layout
The school has only one storey and is pretty small. The original building consisted of seven classrooms and one kindergarten; and the present office was the staff lunchroom. The cost of the school was $170,000 and housed 192 students from kindergarten to Grade 6. It had no gym then, but was added on during the future.
[edit] Renovations
In 1966, they added six classrooms, a spacious library, and a small gym. The school now is separated to a primary hall, and a junior hall. It also has a port-a-pak and a portable on site. The back of the school has a big soccer fields, and a pavement area for students to play on. There are four-square boxes, and a few tether-ball poles on the pavement area too.
[edit] Gifted Program
One of the main programs in this school is the Gifted Program. There are lots more gifted students in Roy H. Crosby than non-gifted students. Normally, there are 2 classes of gifted and 1 very small class of non-gifted students. In Ontario, students are diagnosed for gifted screening in grade 3 and are transferred to a gifted program from grade 4-8. They receive gifted students at grade 4 from different schools around the area. Since elementary school ends at grade 8, but Roy H. Crosby only goes up to grade 6, students who graduate from grade 6 Crosby are transferred to William Berczy Public School.
