Roy Dennefer was a minor character featured in Uncanny X-Men. He was the husband of Elaine Grey's sister Phyliss and thus Uncle to Jean Grey and Sara Grey, and Great-Uncle to Rachel Summers. Roy was a Vietnam War veteran having served two tours, and taught at West Point. During the infamous End Of Greys story arc in which the Shi'ar Death Commandos were eradicating Grey Family members because of their Genome, Roy and Phyliss were invited to the Grey Family Reunion at which the massacre was unbeknownst to them occurring. Just as Roy and Phyliss reached the front door they were murdered by the commando Warskull so that the other members of his team could create an impenetrable shield that would surround the Greys home. The couple were seemingly killed at random as neither possessed the genome that the Death Commandos were trying to exterminate.
