[edit] Tiltles of Roxy Theatre articles

Is it possible to change the title of an article? Wouldn't it be better to title this article "Roxy Theatre (Clarksville, TN)" and the NY Roxy "Roxy Theatre (NYC)" to avoid confusion? The New York Roxy's name was never "theater" with an "er" that's really an error. It was always spelled "theatre". There are many more Roxy Theatres around the country some of which may written about here, so it seems to me that identifying them all by location in the title will save confusion in the long run. (And of course the NY theatre was the original "Roxy", named after its creator Samuel Rothafel.) ThanksMarkhh 17:46, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Good point. I moved both articles. Roxy Theatre and Roxy Theater, both of which now redirect, need to be converted to disambiguation pages.--orlady 18:57, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Wow, Thanks! I think this is much better. I would like to create a disambiguation page for "Roxy Theatre/er" but haven't yet figured out how to do it. Still a Wiki novice, really. Cheers Markhh 19:38, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Just look around for other disambiguation pages and look at "Edit this page" to see how they are structured. I'm also pretty new, but I've built a few disambiguation pages and edited a few others. They can be satisfying projects to undertake because they are not as open-ended as real articles. Perhaps the hardest part of disambiguating a topic is finding all the pages that erroneously link to a page like Roxy Theatre and figuring out where they are supposed to link. Look at "What links here" pages to find those kinds of ambiguities that need to be resolved. (Use Wikipedia search to find others...) Remembering a few disambiguation pages that I worked on, I suggest that you edit Roxy Theatre to convert it into a disambiguation page and make Roxy Theater redirect to it (see the contents and relationship of Oak Ridge and Oakridge). Also see Tusculum (disambiguation) and Oral for additional examples of how to treat different articles with similar names. --orlady 20:24, 3 April 2007

Shouldn't this theatre have its own entry? -Markhh 23:00, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
