Rowan Trollope

Rowan Mehail Trollope, born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is the senior vice president of consumer products at Symantec Corporation. Rowan joined Symantec in 1991, and has held positions in technical support, quality assurance and programming, along with various management roles throughout both the consumer and enterprise organizations within Symantec. In his current role, Rowan manages all components of product management and development within the Consumer organization, leading the development of Norton’s security solutions, including Norton Internet Security, Norton AntiVirus, and Norton 360.
Prior to Rowan’s current position, he served as vice president of Security Management Products at Symantec where he was responsible for key enterprise security solutions, including Symantec Security Information Manager and Symantec Enterprise Security Manager. Rowan has also served as vice president of research and development for Symantec consumer products, leading the Norton brand to market leadership in Internet security.
Rowan holds a variety of patents in computer security and operating systems maintenance, and remains very active in the software industry, being regularly cited as an expert of consumer products and consumer security. In addition to his work with Symantec, Rowan has co-founded a software company, Software Shelf Inc, where he now serves on the Board, and also serves on the Advisory board for Mitsui Venture Partners and is an active member of the IEEE.
