[edit] POV

The article appears very Victoria-based, and not representative of Rovering across Australia.

[edit] Proposed merge

In May it was proposed that Mafeking Rover Park, Rover Motorsport and Mudbash be merged to Scouting in Victoria. There is a suggestion on Talk:Scouting in Victoria that would be better merged here. I have therefore moved the merge tags to suggest the merge to here, but I suggest that the debate continues at Talk:Scouting in Victoria#Merge of three Rover articles - Mafeking Rover Park, Rover Motorsport and Mudbash. --Bduke 00:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merge from Victorian Branch Rover Council

The council itself is not notable. It should be moved to the Rovers section article because the content is the same for every branch. :: maelgwn :: talk 13:44, 4 June 2007 (UTC) Support

Oppose

I have completed the merge. The article now needs some examples of BRC activities in States other than Victoria and a tidy up when the other merge proposals are completed. --Bduke 23:44, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merge of Baden-Powell Award

It is proposed that this article be merged here. Although the article is not a stub, the material needs to be shortened into a tighter form and the article does have cleanup tags on it. The Rovers (Australia) article is not that long and has quite a bit of material on rather specific things. It would balance it out to have a section on the major award of the section. My only doubt is that I believe that the Baden-Powell Award is, or was, an award in Rovers in countries other than Australia (e.g. if memory serves me right, in UK when Rovers was a section), but the article does not mention this. In any event, if this award is used elsewhere it would have different criteria and could be mentioned elsewhere. --Bduke 23:08, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Support merge.

  • As above. --Bduke 23:08, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

  • support - i removed the content because it was a copyvio from [1]. This is a major part of Rovering and so should be treated in the rovers australia article. It is not notable enough for it's own artilcle. :: maelgwntalk 06:05, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Oppose merge.

Now the copyvio has been removed the article says what Rovers (Australia) says. I'm closing this discussion and making it a redirect. --Bduke 07:28, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] MARB Committee

What do the initials "MARB" stand for? This article is supposed to be understandable to folks outside the organisation. I have spelt out RRC and BRC for clarity, but I have no idea what MARB means. --Bduke (talk) 22:07, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Melbourne Area Rover Ball :: maelgwn - talk 00:48, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Well, well, thanks for that. I see you added it to the article. Since it is only Victoria, is it worth having in the article? --Bduke (talk) 11:05, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes - the article is very Victoria based (probably because they have the most members *-)) ive looked at this section a wee bit. :: maelgwn - talk 12:20, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
