[edit] Characters

Rover - (Appears to be a Basset Hound) Rover is the main character of the story. Rover lived in Las Vegas with his owner Connie and best friend Eddie until Rocky, Connie’s boyfriend, threw him off the Hoover Dam. Rover was rescued by two elderly fishermen. After getting out of their truck, he walks off and, in an attempt to escape a stampeding herd of sheep, jumping into a cornfield, where he is found and taken home by a farmer named Cal and his son Danny. Rover has to adjust to farm life if he wants to stay, but being so accustomed to the easy Las Vegas life, it isn’t easy. And Daisy, the neighbor’s collie also provides distractions for him.

Rover is voiced by Rodney Dangerfield

Eddie – (Appears to be a Papillon) Eddie is Rover’s gambling partner and Rover’s best friend. (Much like Charlie and Itchy from All Dogs Go to Heaven) Eddie and Rover were witnesses to Rocky’s dealing. After Rover disappears, Eddie went into a big depression, but spotted Rover on the cover of a newspaper and took the article to Connie. Had he not, Rover and he would probably have never been reunited.

Eddie is voiced by Ronnie Schell

Connie - Connie is Rover's owner. She's a Las Vegas showgirl and a very nice person, but she doesn't see her boyfriend Rocky for the sort he is at first.

Connie is voiced by Shawn Southwick

Raffles – (Appears to be a Border Collie) Raffles is by first farm dog Rover meets. Raffles is confused at first by Rover’s unwillingness to work because he was raised to be a worker. Raffles is a good friend of Daisy and told Rover her name when Rover first saw her. Raffles become Rover’s second best friend and adviser.

Raffles is voiced by Ned Luke

Max – (A German Shepard) Max doesn’t have a big role in the movie. He’s another farm dog and appears to be the second oldest, the first being Duke. He’s the one that first warns Rover about the wolves and refers to their hunting as a “blood feast”. He also tells Rover to “be brave” when he was being taken to the forest to be killed.

Max is voiced by Bert Kramer

Duke – (A Bloodhound) Duke has the smallest role out of the farm dogs, merely saying that “Well, after dinner we usually get together and howl at the moon.” after Rover asks what they did for fun. He can be seen briefly singing during the Christmas tree song. And at the ending of the movie he greets Rover after Connie brings him back.

Duke is voiced by Robert Pine

Lem & Clem – (Beagles) Lem and Clem are twin brothers, and argue the entire time. The two even argue as far as to which one’s “Lem” and which one’s “Clem”.

Lem is voiced by Dennis Blair. Clem is voiced by Don Stewart

Daisy – (A collie) Daisy is the dog of the farm owner’s next door. She was first seen by Rover chasing crows out of a cornfield. Rover fell in love with her and her with him. She was the one to help Rover get out of the shed after Cal locked him up. At the end of the movie, she and Rover have six puppies, five resembling him and one looking exactly like her.

Daisy is voiced by Susan Boyd
