Rovdane
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rovdane is a village in Vanylven municipality, Norway.
From 1837 Rovdane was administratively a part of Herøy municipality. This changed on 1 January 1867 when Sande was separated from Herøy to create a municipality of its own. In 1905 Rovde was separated from Sande, creating a new municipality with Rovdane as the administrative centre.
On 1 January 1964 the district Rovdestranda, where Rovdane is located, was moved to Vanylven whereas the rest of Rovde was reunited with Sande. Rovdestranda had 436 inhabitants at that time.
