This is meant to be a handy way of showing the appearance of route map (canal, railway, etc) icons when discussing their use or development on Talk pages, wher it can be used in-line in the body of the sentence.
It takes as a parameter the icon name, ie, with BSicon_ and the .svg dropped.
For example:
