Is the photograph applicable the viaduct is on the A75 not RN9 Vivbaker 17:45, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Quote from your edits in the article: After Clermont the road has been upgraded to A75 autoroute and heads through the beautiful countryside of the Massif Central. I think that answers your question. Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons 21:03, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
This is not an article on the A75 this is an article on the RN9 and inparticular it's original route or changes, acording to the Michelin map the RN9 still runs through Millau the town under the Viaduct. If you want that photograph in this article change the commentary.Vivbaker 10:47, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
If the road's been upgraded the old course of the road is no longer the RN9 and as your edit points out the RN9 is diverted onto the A75 South of Clermont-Ferrand. Don't edit in content that isn't true if you do not want other contributors to work on your foundations. If according to Michelin the RN9 stil runs through the sticks as it used to, edit the above sentence. The subject of the areticle is in the article's name, if it's about the RN9, your edits say it's now the A75 South of Clermont-Ferrand and the phot is therfore entirely on topic. If it is about where the RN9 used to run, create a new subsection that describes the road's old course: a road isn't usually in two places rather than one. Captain, Do not accuse me of incorrect facts. The RN9 runs through Millau it is the route for traffic not willing to pay the toll to travel over the bridge. If you do not believe me travel along the road at Millau look at the Michelin map of the area or various French road web-sites. The A75 is the upgraded RN9 south of Clermont Ferrand it then takes a new course the old RN9. Your attitude to this and other issues on these road article singles you out as a rather ignorant and small minded individual. Please check you facts before doubting those of others.Vivbaker 12:49, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
My source is this: After Clermont the road has been upgraded to A75 autoroute and heads through the beautiful countryside of the Massif Central.. This is YOUR edit, not mine. If the RN9 is upgraded South of Clermond and the Viaduc de Millau is South of Clermont there is little to debate about, if it is wrong, the correct your edits I am basing my remarks on. If I'm rather ignorant and small minded then don't put false information on Wikipedia ! Also in the spirit of WP:NPA I'll have to ask you refrain from insulting me. I wrote the article, it is not a translation of anything, if you regard the RN9 as now being the A75 you might as well remove the N10,N6,N7,N20 etc as large portions have been upgraded or replaced by Autoroutes. The A75 is a different road with a different article on Wikipedia treat it as such. As with the improvements to the road network the interesting thing is the old course not that of a changed route. I regard your efforts as Vandalism and if you persist will report it as such.Vivbaker 14:12, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

I do regard part of the RN9 as being the A75 as that is what it is and is what you edited in and is what features on fr:Route nationale 9.If the need to massively edit the N10, N6, N7, N20 articles is need then it will be done for sake of consistency and correctness. Your accusations are missguided and you seem unaware of what vandalism is not, Route nationale articles are not yours even if you have contributed a consequent block of them. you may report me if you wish but as my actions do not constitute vandalism your claims are likely to be rebuffed and you are likely to receive a warning yourself as a result of your unwillingness to work along other Wikipedians which constitute a break of Wiketiquette. As a source for my commnets, look at these two maps:
Image:RN9 end.png
The RN9 merges with the A75
Image:RN9 beginning.png
The RN9 demerges from the A75
Between these two locations there is no RN9. This is because, unlike much of the other autoroutes in France, the A75 is free and since there ar elittle restrictions as to which traffic can use autoroutes, the route nationale classification was removed between these two locations. For all intent and purposes, south of Clermont-Ferrand and North of Béziers, the A75 IS the RN9, hence the photo and the reformatting I did (which you removed). This seems a fruitless arguement, I attach a map showing the RN9 does still exist at Millau. May I suggest that you efforts be better spent creating articles on the autoroutes. I commend you on your A13 Autoroute article one on the A75 or A9 would be a benefit to the encyclopedia. An Article on the Route nationale's which have lost their status should concentrate on their historical routes etc if someone wants directions they would use an atlas. I've never disputted the presence of the road's old course, but for a road that long and with a route description that precise it is more suited in a section treating to the old course. The 'current' route description having the course of the current road, you cann A625 road for an argument where I held your position but was convinced that history is history and is not current. Captain, the RN are disapearing all over France. The RN9 now effectively only runs from Moulins to Clermont Ferrand, with two further short stretchs at Moulin and north of Beziers to allow travellers to avoid tolls. Despite your position, the A75 is a replacement for the RN9 and not a new RN9, if it was so you should request this article article is merged with the A75 one. I think my text explained to readers the pre-eminance of the A75 and the disapperance of the RN9. The virtue of describing the roads original course should be obvious in an encyclopedia.

The reason I chose a prose style rather than table list of towns/junctions on the RN, many of which I have driven, was to give the reader the feel of the route, places of interest and information not available from a map. Vivbaker 20:03, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
