[edit] Copyvio

Most of the deleted material came verbatim from the Rough Guides website. What's left, preserved here: Tearlach 22:59, 22 August 2005 (UTC)

Most of these early titles were written or edited by John Fisher[1], Jack Holland [2] and Martin Dunford, who along with Mark Ellingham were co-founders and owners of Rough Guide series.

In 1995 the owners of Rough Guides negotiated the sale of the series to Penguin Books, part of Pearson PLC.

[edit] Real Guide

The Rough Guide series is/was also published under the name 'Real Guide'. I once heard that that was a (temporary) name-change for the US (because 'Rough Guide' sounded too 'rough'). I can't find any info on it, though. DirkvdM 07:55, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
