Rouzbeh Yassini

Rouzbeh Yassini is an Iranian-American engineer, who was one of the earliest developers of cable modems. He was the founder of LANcity and helped establish the cable modem industry standard (DOCSIS) through Cable Television Laboratories. He now is CEO of YAS Broadband Ventures LLC. CED Magazine named him “1998 Man of the Year” for creating and fostering the multibillion-dollar cable modem broadband industry. Dr. Yassini is the author of Planet Broadband a humanized look at broadband technology. The NCTA awarded Dr. Yassini with a 2004 Vanguard Award. In the spring of 2008, Dr. Yassini opened the Yassini Broadband Knowledge Center in Boston. YBKC offers $200,000 in grants each year in order to accelerate independent research into advanced broadband technologies. [1]
