Rouse Hill railway station (previously known as Mungerie Park) is a proposed station for the North West Metro to be located in the suburb of Rouse Hill, Sydney between Windsor Road and the Rouse Hill Town Centre. The station will be underground and is currently under planning. When the line is opened in 2017, the station will be served with trains every 3 minutes for most of the day. The station will be the terminus of the North West Metro, although previously plans were being investigated to extend the line further to connect with the Richmond branch of CityRail's Western Line somewhere near Vineyard.
Rouse Hill station will have 2 island platforms, but because the tunnels will be spaced at the same distance apart as this island platform, there will be no curves in the platforms. The extra platforms will be needed as the station is the terminus of the North West Line and therefore there will not be a constant flow of trains in and out of the station.
Rouse Hill station will be built with a major bus interchange that will feature the terminus of the North West T-way and many other buses. The Rouse Hill Bus Interchange will become increasingly important as the North West corridor develops. Kiss and Ride stands will be available however there will be no commuter carparking spaces. The station is expected to become increasingly important as Rouse Hill Town Centre increasingly develops.
Similar to Kellyville, Rouse Hill station will only be partially underground. It will be situated underneath the bus interchange, however before trains arrive in at the station, the tracks will be on a viaduct adjacent to the North West T-way roads and will then descend into the underground platforms underneath the North West T-way platforms.
[edit] Accessibility
The station will have Easy Access for wheelchairs.
