Roundwood Park School is a secondary school situated in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, UK. Built in 1956, the school celebrated its golden jubilee in 2006. It is a state-run school for boys and girls aged 11-18. It currently has around 1200 pupils, most of whom live in the local area, and surrounding villages (eg. Markyate, Flamstead and Redbourn).

Roundwood Park is a 'Maths and Computing Specialist School' as well as having specialist status in Languages. It runs a full curriculum, including all standard subjects as well as vocational subjects for Sixth Form students. The current headmaster is Nick Daymond. He was preceded by Andrew Cunningham.

Mr Daymond is ably assisted by a senior leadership team, including deputies Mrs Linda Graham and Mr Glen Pettengell, who was previously assistant head at St. Georges school in Harpenden.

Roundwood Park has strong links with other local schools, in particular St. George's School and Sir John Lawes School, both in Harpenden. Roundwood Park has competition with both of these schools.

On the 29 June 2007, it was announced that the newly elected Head Boy and Head Girl of the Sixth Form were to be Greg Dickinson and Fleur Bakie. In the School year from 2006 - 2007 Matt Peplow and Laura Martin held these posts. The rest of the sixth form team includes Kirsty Greyling, Simon Evans, Jonathan Bagnall and Grace Wardley, among others. The process of electing the new sixth form team will commence shortly, with the final decision expected by the end of June.

In the school year beginning September 2007, a new campaign, improving standards has been initiated at the school by the senior leadership team. This has resulted in a tidier, more respected image of the school through the tightening up of uniform regulations and stricter rules on punctuality.

In March 2008, the school revealed its new water scheme, supporting water charities working in Africa. This is further to the already extensive charitable work done by students, which include sponsoring children in the third world through the charity World Vision and large support of local charities.

Roundwood Park has recently introduced an anti-bullying system. It involves training up pupils to become 'Standby Student Counsellors' who can offer support and advice to victims of bullying. The school has received several awards for this scheme.[citation needed]

Currently, construction of a new 'Maths and Music' block is taking place on site. This will replace the four mobile classrooms dotted around the school. The main school reception will be moved to where the music department currently exist, with the old reception to be transformed into a new 'pastoral area'. Construction is going fairly well, although it is unknown to students whether the new block will be completed for the new term in September 2008.

The school has recently tried to secure funding for a new sports hall due to a current lack of facilities, however county have refused funding due to budget constraints.

On the 19 May 2008, there was a fire at the school that caused minor damage to one classroom. Following a seamless evacuation of the school, the fire brigade were called, pronouncing the buildings safe upon arrival.
