Round O is a town in Colleton County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 1,815 at the 2000 census.

Round O is located at 32°56′22.71″N, 80°32′38.61″W (32.939642, -80.544059)[4].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 81.58 square miles (211.3 km²), of which 81.56 square miles (211.2 km²) is land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 1,815 people, 698 households, and 526 families residing in the town. The population density was 22.2 people per square mile (8.6/km²). There were 835 housing units at an average density of 10.2/sq mi (3.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 75.1% White, 12.3% African American, 10.1% from other races, and 2.4% from two or more races.

There were 698 households out of which 31.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.0% were married couples living together, 10.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.6% were non-families. 22.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.03.

In the town the population was spread out with 25.1% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 27.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was almost 39 years. For every 100 females there were 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.0 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $27,689, and the median income for a family was $30,938. Males had a median income of $25,167 versus $22,857 for females. The per capita income for the town was $13,636. About 13.8% of families and 17.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 13.9% of those under the age of eighteen and 15.0% of those sixty five or over. [5]
