Round Hill Elementary School is one of three in the Washingtonville Central School District, which serves the area around the eponymous village in Orange County, New York. It receives students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
[edit] History
The school building itself, located in front of Round Hill just south of the village on Route 208, dates to 1968. But it is a descendant of one of the earliest school buildings in the region. The first Round Hill School was built in 1786 near the present site in Blagg's Clove. It was torn down in 1864 and recycled into a new building in 1864. After its closure in 1933 when the district became more centralized, it has served as a private house. The Round Hill name was revived for the current building.
