Located in Hanover Parish, Jamaica at Montego Bay, Round Hill opened in 1952. Round Hill was conceived by John Pringle and is still in business today. Round Hill has been host for a Charitable star-studded fund raising event called the Sugar Cane Carnival. The Sugar Cane Carnival has been giving back to the Jamaica communities for 50 years.[1]

Round Hill is located on a 100-acre peninsula that was originally a sugar plantation and subsequently changed over to coconuts and allspice. Twenty-nine acres of the land was taken and investors built their own cottages as well as supplying money for the hotel. Shareholders have included Noel Coward, Adele Astaire, Bill Paley, Oscar Hammerstein, and Clive Brook.[2]

Round Hill has a rich history and has entertained quite a host of celebrity figures and politicians. The list includes such prominent figures as John F. Kennedy, Ralph Lauren, Paul Newman and Bob Hope. Ian Fleming was a frequent guest at Round Hill during his time in Jamaica.

Scenes from the American movie How Stella Got Her Groove Back were filmed in Cottage 11.
