The Roulet Family was founded by Rollet Bayard (b.?-d.1512), in the late 1400s. The family is mostly known for its relation to the Prussian Royal family. In 1819, Francois Roulet was ennobled by King Frederick-William III of Prussia. The family was dissolved during the early 1900s, as the German empire collapsed. Much of the family fled to the United States, where they adopted several americanized surnames. The current branch of the family that is distantly in line of succession to the Prussian throne, are scattered amongst the southwestern region of the United States. There are some descendants that are said to have gone to western Switzerland.
