Rough Fescue (Festuca scabrella) is a native, perennial bunchgrass found throughout north-western North America. The Canadian province of Alberta is home to the largest area of rough fescue grassland in North America, and hosts the plains (Festuca hallii), foothills (Festuca campestris), and northern variaties (Festuca altaica). Rough fescue is the provincial grass of Alberta.[1]
