"Rough Day" is a R&B dance song written by Bridget Benenate, Matthew Gerrard and Franne Golde, produced by Audius Mtawarira for Paulini's third album Superwoman (2006). It was released as the albums first single in Australia on January 15, 2006 (see 2006 in music) as a Maxi single. The song was a minor hit peaking in the top thirty on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart spending four weeks in the top fifty.[1]
It was released to Australian radio airplay on December 5, 2005. The music video was directed by Jonathan and Josh Baker and has a 1960 vibe to it. It shows Paulini in a kitchen as she gets ready for work, working with her friends in the hairdressing salon, missing the bus and then on a dancefloor with her friends in a leopard print dress.
