Rou jia mo

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rou jia mo (simplified Chinese: 肉夹馍; pinyin: ròu jīa mó), hot pork sandwich, is a snack widely consumed in China, especially in the province of Shaanxi. It consists of finely chopped oily pork stuffed in toasted wheat flour flatbread. Good quality bread is called you zhi.

Rou jia mo costs less than 10 yuan in any part of China and is considered an alternative to the Western hamburger. It can be found in many street hawker stalls, especially those selling soups or jiaozi.
