Image:Round hay bale, partially eaten.jpg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] Summary

A round bale of Hay, which has been partially eaten by sheep.

From a photo I took in late winter, 2006 near Naracoorte, South Australia.

Note the denser hay at the center of the bale. Round bales are harder to handle and store than square bales, but are generally preferred because they compress the hay more tightly.
